Cogentric Lowers Liberty Risk
To help lower the risk exposure of its policyholders of coverages for Internet-related errors and omissions, copyright infringement, invasion of privacy and liabilities associated with hacker attacks, Liberty International Underwriters (Boston) has contracted with Cogentric (Portsmouth, NH) for use of its Alcon Security Systems, which analyzes the risk levels of a company's technical environment.
"Cogentric performs a remote analysis of Web site characteristics, and provides a report with valuable risk and remediation information," explains Carl Pursiano, vice president, specialty casualty, Liberty International Underwriters, a global underwriter of specialty lines. "These assessments are achieved with minimal intrusion and include information about the prospect's security organization and culture."
According to Pursiano, Cogentric was picked after Liberty evaluated a number of security assessment providers. "Liberty chose to award the contract to Cogentric because its product provides the most thorough, cost-effective way to reduce the uncertainty associated with underwriting Internet liability insurance policies," he says.
