Manulife, John Hancock Shuffle Compliance Execs

Responsible for Manulife's compliance activities throughout Canada, Asia and the United States, Cloherty reports to J-P. Bisnaire, Manulife's Senior EVP of corporate development and general counsel.

"Kevin's responsibilities have included serving as advisory counsel to the global compliance community in North America and Asia, as chief counsel to John Hancock's chief compliance officer, and as chief counsel for Manulife's Reinsurance Division and head of its legal team. He has been a valued key advisor to Jim Gallagher, and we congratulate him on his new role," Bisnaire said in a statement.
Cloherty is based in Boston. He joined Manulife and John Hancock in 2005 from Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault, where he was a partner in the litigation practice group specializing in internal investigations and white collar criminal defense.
