Canal Insurance (Columbia, S.C.) purchased the ImageRight (Conyers, Ga.) document management system to streamline underwriting operations, and New York Mutual Underwriters (Latham, N.Y.) purchased the ImageRight system to improve underwriting and claims operations.

Somo Japan Insurance Co. of America (New York) will license Insurity's (Hartford) Internet-based policy administration system, Commercial Intellisys, for all lines of business.

McCamish Wins

Farmers New World Life (Los Angeles) extended its BPO relationship with McCamish Systems (Atlanta) through 2011 for call center, policy administration and claims processing of its variable universal life and annuity products. Also, TIAA-CREF (New York) selected McCamish Systems to provide administration services for TIAA-CREF Life Insurance Co.'s Universal and Variable Universal Life product line.

R.I. DHS Selects EDS

EDS (Plano, Texas) was awarded a $73 million, four-year contract plus two one-year options to continue processing healthcare provider claims and provide other Medicaid financial services to the state of Rhode Island's Department of Human Services (Cranston, R.I.).
