CSC Forms Strategic Alliance With Cordys

The alliance agreement covers implementation services and the transitioning of BPM software provider Cordys' Benelux professional services group to CSC.

CSC (Falls Church, Va.) has entered a strategic alliance with Netherlands-based Cordys, a business process management software provider. The alliance agreement covers implementation services and a worldwide reseller agreement for the Cordys Business Operations Platform. It also includes transitioning the entire Cordys Benelux professional services group to CSC to establish a CSC practice with expertise in Cordys' technology and leverage that experience globally, according to a CSC press release.

The Cordys solution contains a comprehensive business process management suite suitable for cloud computing operations due to its ability to orchestrate processes and Web services, both within organizations and across organizational boundaries, according to the release. These capabilities enable corporations to facilitate rapid and effective changes and to foster greater innovation, CSC claims.

"Cordys Business Operations Platform allows organizations to change and innovate the way they do business with notable new speed and greater flexibility," says Lem Lasher, chief innovation officer and president of CSC's Global Business Solutions Group. "This is a key business requirement in the current economic climate. These new solution elements provide a range of tools for business transformation and directly support our enterprise-wide cloud strategy. CSC and Cordys share a common purpose of strong business ethics, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit, and we are delighted to announce and formalize this partnership."

Last year Cordys made a strategic decision to follow a partner-centric business model and reorganized the company to fit that strategy, according to Jan Baan, CEO, Cordys. "Despite the difficult economic climate, we have seen significant success with this strategy," Baan comments. "Looking at the strong increase in both actual sales and pent-up demand for Cordys solutions, the agreement with CSC was the next logical step. Cordys will continue to focus on product development, sales and marketing, and support.
