Dakota Embeds Parascript App

Columbia, MD-based e-transaction ASP Dakota Imaging is integrating Parascript, LLC's (Niwot, CO) FieldScript character recognition software into its automated Medicaid claims processing system.

Dakota's Transform, a high-volume transaction processing system, will have Parascript's technology added to itsexisting set of optical recognition technologies for the processing of forms, says Sandeep Gole, Dakota's president and CEO. "We added the Parascript technology so our customers have another option," he says. Parascript's technology, which is capable of reading free-hand cursive writing, will add that capability to Dakota's existing capacity for optical capture of machine and hand print.

"With Parascript technology, our product is able to handle an additional 10 to 20 percent of incoming documents automatically," Gole says.

Calling the partnership "a good fit" between respective leaders in their fields, John Unoski, general manager, total recognition products, Parascript, says, "The deal gives Parascript the opportunity to show that being a leader in handwriting technology allows us to support any vertical industry where forms are being used."
