ProvWash Removes Paper
As part of its effort to remove paper from the reporting process, Providence Washington Insurance Co. (Providence, R.I., $200 million in annual premium) has extended its contract with Cognos (Ottawa, Ontario) by selecting Cognos ReportNet to provide executives with self-service access to premium and loss information from the carrier's data warehouse.
"Our intention is to replace paper reports with an Internet-based reporting process," says Ed Leveille, vice president and CIO at Providence Washington. "Cognos ReportNet gives us a new reporting solution to increase efficiency. ReportNet allows us to produce standard and customized reports from our warehouse that show our profitability results at virtually any level of applicable data."
Leveille estimates that the product will be rolled out to Providence Washington's users -including senior executives and underwriters-by the end of 2004.
Also, by using Cognos ReportNet, Providence Washington will be able to create an executive dashboard that will display "current data and graphs and tables so the business leaders can have a real-time barometer of the business," Leveille adds.
