Recognizing IT Excellence

Visionary executives will be honored at I&T's Executive Summit 2001.

The visionary insurance technology executives recognized as Insurance & Technology's Elite 8 2001 will be honored at the annual Awards Dinner at the Executive Summit 2001, "Putting Customers First, and Profiting from It" (Dec. 9-12, Arizona Biltmore Hotel, Phoenix).

This year's Elite 8 comprises Ken Barger, CTO, The Hartford; Byrne Chapman, VP of Information Services, American Family Mutual Insurance; June Drewry, EVP/CIO, Aon Corp.; Barbara Koster, SVP/CIO, individual life insurance and retail distribution, Prudential Financial; Chuck McCaig, managing director, SVP, information technology, Chubb & Son; Mark Popolano, CIO, AIG; Bob Walters, EVP/CIO, John Hancock Financial; and Stephen Yates, president, USAA Information Technology Co.

In addition to recognizing the achievements of the Elite 8 2001, Insurance & Technology's Executive Summit 2001 also will address the industry's response to the September 11 Terrorist attacks, and will focus on helping executives address the management challenges created by the tragedy.

Other program highlights include insights into "The Truth about the Financial Services Customer" offered by Greg Davies, senior analyst/insurance at Gomez Inc.; a preview of the Fusura joint venture gameplan when president/CEO Mark Parsells addresses "It's More Than Selling: Using E-Technologies To Improve Service and Customer Retention"; a discussion on "The CIO's Role in a Customer-Centric World," with panelists including Barbara Koster, of Prudential, Kevin Murray, CIO of AIG Claims Services, and Craig Lowenthal, First VP and CIO, Hartford Financial Products; plus, special interest roundtables on a range of hot topics including Technology ROI and E-Business Strategies that Work.
