State Farm Brings Steer Clear App to Android
Bloomington, Ill.-based State Farm has updated its Steer Clear mobile application, and released a version for Android phones. The app previously was available only for iPhone.
Young drivers can complete a course that qualifies them for State Farm's Steer Clear discount from the app. Users can also enter their state requirements for licensing and keep track of their driving time.
"Steer Clear promotes fundamental driver safety behaviors that have been identified through research and can help guide those important discussions between young drivers and their parents," Laurette Stiles, VP of strategic resources at State Farm, says in a statement. "For families who have Android smart phones, we're excited to offer another convenient way to complete the program."
State Farm has been expanding its presence on Android recently. In August, the company released an expansion to its Pocket Agent application that auto-sends reply text messages while policyholders are driving to keep them focused on the road.
