Truck Insurer Embraces Driver Coaching
Continuing a trend toward insurance companies leveraging technology to help their policyholders reduce risk, Wisconsin-based truck insurer Sentry Insurance has contracted with Lytx (San Diego) to provide the DriveCam telematics-based driver coaching program to its clients.
With the program, an in-vehicle device captures driving behavior, which is reviewed and scored, then passed on to the fleet for use in coaching drivers.
"The DriveCam program will help our customers operate safer fleets and help us protect them against fraudulent claims," says Dave Gibson, Sentry's Director of Safety Services - Transportation, in a statement. We believe so strongly in the program that we'll share a portion of our customer's cost to implement the program."
