Unum Group Names Chief Actuary

Unum Group (Chattanooga, Tenn.) has promoted Al Riggieri to senior vice president and chief actuary.

Currently, Riggieri is VP and chief actuary for Unum US in the company’s Portland, Maine, offices. He began his career in 1980 with Unum predecessor The Paul Revere Life Insurance Company and has been vice president and actuary of Unum US since 1998.

“Al’s 30 years of experience with our company and deep expertise in our product lines make him an excellent choice for this important role,” said Rick McKenney, EVP and CFO for Unum Group, in a press release. “I look forward to Al’s development of the actuarial function on a global basis and the important role that it will play in the coming years.”

Riggieri is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the Academy of Actuaries.
