Gary Shaw has been named the new national sector leader of New York-based consultancy Deloitte's insurance practice, replacing the retiring Rebecca Amoroso.
"Gary has already played a key role in the insurance sector with his leadership of two of our largest global insurance clients," said Bob Contri, vice chairman and U.S. financial services leader, Deloitte LLP, in a statement. "We are delighted that he has accepted this new assignment, and know that his extensive client experience coupled with his leadership skills make him a perfect fit for our financial services industry leadership team."
Shaw, who has been with Deloitte for 25 years, will work with the teams serving the company's insurance clients, as well as functional and regional sector leaders, to coordinate the organization’s insurance sector strategy. He also has served as secretary and treasurer of the Metro New York/New Jersey chapter of IASA.
A former Deloitte consultant, Gordon Gaudet, was named CIO of Selective Insurance last week.
