JOSEPH P. POMILIA has been named as IASA's (Durham, NC) first executive director. Pomilia was the NationalAssociation of Independent Insurers' (NAII, Des Plaines, IL) industry coalition leader to the National Association of Insurance Comissioners (NAIC, Kansas City).

Newark, NJ-based HORIZON BLUE CROSS BLUE SHIELD OF NEW JERSEY has named JACKIE JENNIFER vice president of customer service. She was formerly vice president of operations at Premera Blue Cross (Seattle).

MICHAEL DUFTON has been appointed president and chief executive officer of SOLCORP (Toronto). Dufton was SOLCORP's executive vice president and chief operating officer.

MARY LAUFER FRANCIS has joined THE HARTFORD FINANCIAL SERVICES GROUP (Hartford) as director of commercial lines automation. Laufer was insurance industry marketing manager for Xerox Corp. (Stamford, CT).

Princeton, NJ-based AMERICAN RE has appointed JACK SNYDER senior vice president. Snyder was previously executive vice president and chief ratings officer at A. M. Best Co. (Oldwick, NJ).
