GALER EVP AT ZURICH

Zurich North America (Schaumburg, Ill.) has named Donna Galer executive vice president, office of the CEO. Galer was acting head of investor relations at Zurich Financial Services Group.

MASSMUTUAL PROMOS

MassMutual Financial Group (Springfield, Mass.) has promoted Andrew Oleksiw and Toby J. Slodden to the position of executive vice president. Oleksiw is heading international insurance, large corporate markets, and merger-and-acquisition functions; Slodden is overseeing retirement services, disability income insurance, long-term care insurance and financial products. Both had been senior vice presidents.

GE CLAIMS LEADER

GE Commercial Insurance (Overland Park, Kan.) has appointed Brian Jones to serve as claims leader. Jones will be responsible for driving the company's claims strategy, monitoring claims dispositions and overseeing the carrier's regional offices.

MAGELLAN PRESIDENT

Rene Lerer, M.D., was named president of Columbia, Md.-based Magellan Health Services. Lerer will continue to execute his duties as Magellan's chief operating officer.

CNA SURETY CFO

On Jan. 1, 2004, John F. Corcoran will become chief financial officer of Chicago-based CNA Surety Corp. Corcoran is senior vice president and senior financial officer for global and specialty lines at CNA Insurance Companies.
