Exigen Services, Baseline Telematics Partner
Exigen Services has announced a partnership with Baseline Telematics, a Laval, Quebec-based company that powers the Mobiliz usage-based insurance program from Industrial Alliance Auto and Home Insurance.
Exigen will help Baseline meet regulatory, marketing and distribution requirements as it markets its telematics insurance product in new markets.
The Twitter zeitgeist around telematics and driverless cars
"Through this partnership, Baseline and Exigen Services will help early adopter insurers take advantage of the benefits of the quickly evolving telematics based insurance trend. This technology provides a turn-key insurance telematics solution and the fastest implementation available in the market," said Jonathan Kalman, President of the Global Insurance Division of Exigen Services, in a statement.
Like many newer usage-based insurance programs, the one Baseline provides is powered by an in-car device that measures GPS location, mileage, speed, sudden acceleration and sudden braking to rating servers, enabling real time monthly rating and driver feedback via smartphone app.
