Former BOA Tech Exec Named CIO of MGU AmWins
AmWins, a MGU for niche P&C products and group benefits wholesaler, has named Todd Atwood CIO.
Atwood last was SVP and chief architect executive at Bank of America, which is, like AmWins, based in Charlotte, N.C.
“I was looking for an organization that views technology as a strategic resource, and not just a support function, and that’s what I found at AmWINS,” Atwood said in a statement. “I was immediately impressed with the energy and collaboration among the management team and throughout the entire organization. Every industry needs someone to disrupt things by challenging the status quo, and that vision to lead change exists here. We have a great opportunity, with the quantity and quality of AmWINS’ data, to create new ways to provide the best value and expertise to our clients.”
Atwood will oversee a team of 150 IT professionals, according to AmWins CEO Steven DeCarlo.
“We have always devoted resources to develop and enhance our proprietary software platform and data analytics capabilities, and the addition of Todd reflects our desire to move our technology commitment to a higher level," DeCarlo added in a statement.
