Former Chubb Division COO Takes Over Top Underwiting Post at Homesite
Homesite Insurance Company (Boston) has appointed Andrew A. McElwee, Jr. as EVP and chief underwriting officer. Reporting to president and COO Doug Batting, McElwee is responsible for the underwriting profit of Homesite's personal lines portfolio.
"Andy's leadership and underwriting expertise will provide Homesite with increased capabilities as we continue to grow our business and our partnerships. A seasoned insurance, financial and legal professional with over 25 years of experience, Andy will bring the depth of expertise necessary to drive underwriting results and innovation," said Batting. "I am confident that Andy's depth and breadth of personal lines and industry knowledge will provide Homesite with new capabilities that support our strategic business objectives going forward."
McElwee last served as COO of Chubb Personal Insurance (CPI). He also managed International Field Operations and Mergers & Acquisitions. He has also worked at Morgan Stanley and Dewey & LeBoeuf.
