Former CTO Forms TechVestCo

The career of Steve Andriole, a former chief technology officer at Cigna (Philadelphia), has gone full circle. Prior to his three years with Cigna, Andriole, who currently consults for TechVestCo (Bryn Mawr, PA)—which he founded—started International Information Systems, Inc. (Fairfax, VA), which focused mainly on software design consulting. Immediately following his tenure with Cigna, Andriole was the senior vice president and CTO of the public venture capital company Safeguard Scientifics (Wayne, PA).

"At Cigna I had the responsibility of rethinking what the communication and computing infrastructure should look like and then developing a strategy around implementation," says Andriole. "Safeguard was quite different because my job was to take the knowledge about where architectures were going and develop stragegies for investing and creating new companies."

Andriole has combined the knowledge learned from his experiences at Cigna and SafeGuard and applied it to his work at TechVestCo, a company that consults on everything from corporate technology health-checks to due diligence for tech investors. "At TechVestCo I draw from my Cigna and Safeguard knowledge base, because I speak both to groups that deploy technology, as well as those who invest in technology. The common denominator in all of this has been technology trend analysis."
