Genworth Mortgage Insurance Unit Adds New CIO and COO

Genworth Financial has appointed Paul Gomez as COO and George Reichert at CIO of its U.S. Mortgage Insurance (USMI) unit, based in Richmond.

Gomez was SVP for U.S. Life Insurance Operations at Genworth prior to this position and Reichert was previously a CIO at Nortel Networks.

President and CEO of Genworth USMI, Rohit Gupta, cited Gomez's background in analytics and customer experience as key to his promotion. Meanwhile, the company praised Reichert's restructuring of Nortel's IT unit and expects him to deliver a cohesive, strong strategy to USMI's IT organization as well.

“George is a results-driven leader with a proven ability to develop and execute IT strategy as well as motivate and empower people,” says Gupta in a statement. “I'm pleased to have him on board to focus on how we can best leverage technology to drive the business forward and effectively manage change.”
