Health Insurance Automation Service Provider Connecture Acquires Peer Insurix

The former will expand its broker platform with technology from the latter.

Atlanta-based Connecture, which provides sales, service and process automation systems to the health insurance industry, has acquired Insurix, a provider of similar services based in Farmington, Conn.

Connecture offers three products, InsureAdvantage, BrokerAdvantage and StateAdvantage, to parties that deal with health insurance distribution. Insurix's Benefit Central, a small group broker automation platform, will be folded into BrokerAdvantage.

"The combination of Connecture's leading-edge technology and services with Insurix's client base and broker automation platform will transform this market and drive significant savings to an industry burdened with manual processes and inefficiencies," Dan Maynard, president and CEO of Connecture, says in a statement.

Insurix CTO Aaron Downend will join the Connecture executive team as VP of technology.
