Highmark Picks Zix for E-mail Encryption
Pittsburgh-based health carrier Highmark has selected Dallas-based Zix Corporation's e-mail encryption services to secure e-mails across three of its companies.
Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield in Western Pennsylvania, Highmark Blue Shield in Central Pennsylvania and Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield West Virginia will use ZixGateway, which allows transparent encrypted e-mail between users; or, for non-users, the ability to open e-mail through a portal, ZixPort, or in their inbox, with ZixDirect.
“ZixCorp’s multiple delivery methods provide our end-users with more options for receiving and sending secure e-mail. Combining its ease of use with a reputation as a ‘set it and forget it’ solution, ZixCorp represents the next generation in ease of use and provides the kind of reliability and security I need,” Brian Smith, Highmark Messaging Systems Manager, says in a statement.
Thirty-one other Blue Cross organizations use Zix as well, the company claims.
