Horizon Learns HIPAA

Because QuickCompliance's (QC) HIPAA employment training e-learning solutions are both customizable and entertaining, according to Harriet Brief, manager, learning and development vendor relationships, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey (Horizon BCBSNJ, Newark), the carrier has entered into a three-year agreement to use the San Rafael, CA-based vendor's HIPAA employee training solutions.

"Horizon found that the QC courseware not only held your attention, but it provided Horizon the opportunity to customize the content," says Brief. "In addition, the various learning modules allowed us to provide role-based training to Horizon's business units."

According to Brief, the training is accessed at the Horizon BCBSNJ University, which is on the company's intranet, and runs on Learnframe's (Draper, UT) Pinnacle Learning Management (PLM) System. "Each employee has a sign-on which brings them to the curriculum for which they've been registered," explains Brief. After employees complete the course, the PLM records the completion andthe employee completes a post-knowledge survey that is scored and recorded.
