Rajamannar will lead the Louisville, Ky.-based health insurer's Innovation Center, as well as its marketing, corporate communications and government relations organization. He will report Humana president and CEO Mike McCallister.
Rajamannar was most recently executive vice president and chief marketing officer for the Global Cards division of Citigroup (NewYork). From 2006 to 2008, as executive vice president of Citigroup's Credit Cards Business, he managed the bank's value, cash and rewards business, as well as the automotive and telecommunications sectors. He also headed the new product development and new payment technologies groups. From 2003 to 2005 he was chairman and CEO of Citigroup's Diners Club North America business.
"Raja's success in developing and marketing consumer-focused strategies for Citigroup is highly aligned with our industry leadership in consumerism and innovation," says McCallister. "As Humana broadens its scope from 'just' health benefits to include health-improvement programs for individuals and communities that emphasize measurement and rewards, Raja is ideally suited to play a transformational leadership role " in our company and our industry."
