IDP Names Chartis, CIGNA Vet CEO

Bob Blithstein takes over the software company after stints in the IT departments at two carriers.

Insurance Data Processing (IDP; Wyncote, Pa), a provider of policy admin software for small and midsize carriers, has named Bob Blitshtein CEO.

Blithstein comes from Chartis, the P&C division of AIG, where he was head of architecture. He also has served as head of software architecture for CIGNA.

“[Blithstein] will lead IDP’s growth initiatives, reinforce our ties with customers and oversee technology developments that help small to mid-size property and casualty insurers compete on a level playing field with companies many times their size," says IDP board chairman David Carlino.

The Temple graduate also has CEO experience from an educational software and Internet portal company that he helped found, Carlino adds.
