Independence Blue Cross Renews DST BPO Relationship
Philadelphia-based Independence Blue Cross has extended its contract with DST Health Solutions (Birmingham, Ala.) for business process outsourcing services. DST will continue to provide services for front-end data capture, claims adjudication and claim adjustments for Independence Blue Cross, according to a DST source.
The agreement also includes a continuation of IBC's license for the DST's PowerMHS claims administration solution, as well as software development and consulting services, according to the vendor. PowerMHS provides functionality for member services, benefit administration, premium billing, provider management and reimbursement, utilization management, claims productivity and adjudication, financial management and reporting.
"Our collaborative working relationship with DST Health Solutions has helped to increase the rate of claims that require no intervention, commonly called the first-pass rate, which greatly helps us to reduce our administrative costs of claim processing and increase the productivity of our staff that handle millions of these transactions each year," says Stephan Roker, vice president, processing services, Independence Blue Cross.
Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
