Insurance Fraud Bureau to Implement Detica's NetReveal

The industry group will use the software to establish a Web portal for its members.

The Insurance Fraud Bureau (IFB), a nonprofit formed by British personal lines insurers to detect and prevent organized fraud, has entered into a five-year contract with McLean, Va.-based Detica to implement its NetReveal software.

NetReveal provides a Web portal for customers to interact directly and in an automated manner with the IFB, the companies say in a statement. The system will risk score individuals, claims, vehicles, companies and addresses, and the portal will enable customers to carry out swift automated risk assessments and/or rapidly gather information to support an investigation, the statement continues.

The new system also will allow the IFB to automate the identification of high risk networks and create work queues for IFB Analysts to research and rapidly disseminate valuable intelligence to customers, according to the release.

"This state-of-the-art technology acts as a very powerful enabler to allow us to deliver increasing value to customers both with existing services and planned future initiatives under consideration," Glen Marr, director of the IFB, says in a statement. "Customers will be advised as the new web portal facility comes online and can operate under business as usual protocols while the enhanced IT solution is embedded."

Implementation is scheduled for the first quarter of next year.
