iPipeline Acquires COSS

iPipeline has acquired COSS Development Corporation and will provide an end-to-end offering for point of sale applications.

Sales distribution software provider iPipeline (Exton, Pa.) has acquired Huntersville, N.C.-based COSS Development Corporation, an illustration systems and forms technology vendor. The two organizations had been business partners since 2004.

Under the acquisition, iPipeline plans to introduce an end-to-end point of sale application to the market that will allow brokers to use a Web-based system to present their clients with comparisons and illustrations for insurance products and then access and complete up-to-date forms online. In addition to the acquisition, iPipeline also announced the appointment of Timothy Wallace to president and CEO of the company. Wallace is succeeding Larry Berran, who will become iPipeline's chief operating officer and chief financial officer.
