Raleigh, N.C.-based IAT Reinsurance Co. Ltd. (IAT Group) has signed a license for Sapiens' (Research Triangle Park, N.C.) reinsurance administration software, Sapiens INSIGHT for Reinsurance.
IAT Group will implement Sapiens' Web-based, business rules-driven solution for all of its companies, including Occidental Fire & Casualty Co. of N.C., Wilshire Ins. Co., Acceptance Indemnity Ins. Co., Acceptance Casualty Ins. Co. and Harco National Ins. Co.
IAT Group is the first customer for the product, which Sapiens debuted at this year's RIMS (Risk and Insurance Management Society) in April.
Docucorp Launches Forms Integrity Manager
Dallas-based Docucorp International announced availability of its forms integrity manager solution, a print stream comparison application that enables companies to automate the testing of AFP and Metacode print streams.
The vendor says that companies can use the forms integrity manager to test for inadvertent changes that occur when upgrading document composition systems; test minor changes made to existing documents; and test new documents.
The solution provides a detailed, side-by-side comparison of two print streams, indicating the exact location of the items that were changed, according to Docucorp. Easy drop-down tools simplify acceptance of changes, and an audit file tracks all modifications. A batch process allows users to run multiple data stream comparisons overnight, Docucorp says.
Insurance industry newcomer Portellus, an Irvine, Calif.-based business rules management solutions vendor, has opened what it calls a Customer Readiness Lab (CRL), which it describes as a comprehensive testing, evaluation and solution simulation facility that allows prospective customers a hands-on examination of the features, functionality and compatibility of Portellus' solutions. John Le, Portellus' president and CEO, believes that the CRL will make it easier to demonstrate the vendor's solutions' value while mitigating the risks typically involved with purchasing enterprise-level applications.
Portellus, which has had extensive success in the mortgage banking industry, secured its first insurance customer, Puerto Rico-based P&C carrier Universal Insurance, at last year's ISO Tech show in New Orleans. Universal's implementation of Portellus went live in April.
San Diego-based Solimar Systems has released SOLsearcher Single Platform (SP), a document distribution solution that enables companies to effectively index, store, search and retrieve large collections of transactional documents, according to the vendor.
Designed to complement existing print workflows and replace paper-based business processes, SOLsearcher SP allows clients to securely access critical business documents and reports via an intranet or secure portal, according to the vendor. Information can be presented with a standard user interface or by creating a customized interface using an API or Web services.
Features include personalized file folders, asynchronous file submissions, an intuitive application development suite, report mining and export to .CSV, Web services integration, centralized systems administration, e-mail notification capability, rule-based indexing, document assembly and vendor neutral storage support, according to Solimar.
Conyers, Ga.-based document management and workflow solutions provider ImageRight announced that it had signed 19 new clients in the third quarter of 2005.

Information Builders Launches WebFOCUS Active Reports
Enterprise business intelligence solutions provider Information Builders (New York) has launched what it touts as the industry's first truly portable business intelligence solution. WebFOCUS Active Reports enables users to leverage portable analytics capabilities to obtain critical business intelligence information whenever, wherever and however they need it, the vendor claims.
Unlike interactive BI solutions that operate only in one environment, WebFOCUS Active Reports can be created in both connected and disconnected modes, according to Information Builders. This enables users to view and interact with reports regardless of their connection to the network, eliminating the requirement for a cube or report server. Users are also able to separate combined reports and deliver a particular output to other users through WebFOCUS ReportCaster, saving valuable resources required to rerun queries and recreate individual output for solitary recipients, according to the vendor.
