Jackson Life Names President and CEO
Jackson National Life Insurance Company (Jackson; Lansing, Mich.) has named Mike Wells president and CEO. He had been vice chairman and COO.
Wells, who will also join the board of directors for Jackson's parent company, London-based Prudential, takes over at the end of 2010 for Clark Manning. He joined Jackson in 1995 as president of Jackson National Life Distributors LLC, the carrier's marketing and distribution arm.
“I look forward to assuming the leadership of this great organization and continuing the strong legacy that Clark has established at Jackson,” said Wells. “Clark has admirably led Jackson to its current strong position in the market and I am excited to build upon that success. I view my appointment as an endorsement of the entire Jackson senior management team and the profitable growth we have been able to achieve together.”
Manning will remain as a chairman for Jackson through April 2011, and remain in an advisory role until the end of next year. He had been with the company for 15 years, signing on as chief actuary and COO.
