Karen Clark & Company and TigerRisk Partners have formed a strategic partnership to provide insurers with an integrated catastrophe risk management approach.

TigerRisk Partners, a Shelton, Conn.-based reinsurance broking and risk/capital management firm, has announced that it will partner with catastrophe modeling consulting firm Karen Clark & Company (Boston) to offer an integrated approach to assessing, pricing and managing catastrophe risks to insurance carriers, according to a press release.

Under the partnership, the two firms will help companies develop consistent metrics for evaluating CAT risk, according to a TigerRisk source. The integrated approach will include a rigorous examination of how companies capture and collect data, dissect and validate cat model output, as well as develop and implement strategies to improve capital allocations and profitability.

"Karen Clark...has a unique ability to discern, quantify and understand model outputs. TigerRisk, in turn, has the skills to integrate these more sophisticated risk profiles to better manage cat risks across diverse portfolios and provide insurers a competitive advantage," TigerRisk CEO Rod Fox said in the release.
