LANSA Upgrades Composer Business Process Integration Solution

Highlights of LANSA Composer Version 2 include: Improved exception handling; enhanced auditing features; introduction of version control; improved user interface; support for Excel 2007; Automated deployment features; and support for Windows Server 2003 & 2008 " in addition to the IBM i as a deployment server.

Downers Grove, Ill.-based LANSA has released what it describes as a major upgrade of its LANSA Composer "code free" business process integration solution. Designed specifically for organizations running on the IBM i platform, Version 1 includes more than 100 new and enhanced features designed to improve ease-of-use, breadth of integration and runtime performance. The vendor has also introduced support for executing business processes on Windows.

LANSA Composer is a design and execution platform for integrating business activities that involve the transportation and transformation of data and custom business processing, according to a vendor source. The design environment of the solution was made 'code-free' by combining a graphical data-mapping tool with a visual process sequence editor. That capability enables a business analyst, or a similarly skilled person, to design end- to-end processes in conjunction with subject matter experts without the need for any programming expertise, according to LANSA. Typical business scenarios include routing transactions and alerts between trading partners, automating workflow procedures between departments and providing straight-through processing between front- and back-office systems, the vendor source says.

Highlights of LANSA Composer Version 2 include: Improved exception handling; enhanced auditing features; introduction of version control; improved user interface; support for Excel 2007; Automated deployment features; and support for Windows Server 2003 & 2008, in addition to the IBM i as a deployment server.

LANSA Composer Version 2 is now generally available for purchase and existing users will receive a free upgrade from Version 1 if they have a software maintenance agreement in effect, according to the vendor.
