LaRocco New Fireman’s Fund CEO
Fireman's Fund Insurance Co.'s board of directors has named Michael LaRocco president and chief executive officer of Fireman's Fund (Novato, Calif.), effective March 17. LaRocco will report to Chuck Kavitsky, president and CEO of Allianz of America (Westport, Conn.), Fireman's Fund's parent company. LaRocco will also serve on the international executive committee of Allianz SE (Munich).
LaRocco arrived at Fireman's Fund from Safeco (Seattle), where he had been president and chief operating officer. LaRocco is also a veteran of Geico Corporation, where he had been a vice president responsible for the company's Northeast region. His background also includes seven years tenure at Superior Insurance where, among other responsibilities, he headed underwriting operations and customer service. He began his insurance career at Progressive Corporation, working eight years in a variety of management roles, according to a Fireman's Fund source.
"Mike has superb credentials and is a proven leader in the property and casualty insurance industry," said Fireman's Fund's Kavitsky. "His background and experience make him an ideal fit."
