Lowenthal Leaves NYMAGIC CIO Post
Insurance & Technology has confirmed that Craig Lowenthal has left New York Marine and General Insurance Company (New York), where he had served as executive vice president and CIO since March 2007.
Lowenthal was hired by NYMAGIC to build up the carrier's IT organization and replace its legacy system, as reported by Insurance & Technology. Previously Lowenthal was CIO of insurance brokerage and risk management firm Integro (New York) which he joined 2005, after serving as CIO of Hartford Financial Products (New York) beginning in 2000. He began his insurance IT career at Reliance National Insurance Co. in 1989.
At press time NYMAGIC had not responded to Insurance & Technology's inquiries about the fate of its policy administration system replacement initiative and whether the company plans to hire a new CIO.
