Main Street America Group Names Ron James CIO
Main Street America Group has named Ron James CIO and vice president of information technology. James, who will report to the Jacksonville, Fla.-based P&C carrier's president and CEO Tom Van Berkel, joined the company Nov. 2008 as interim CIO.
In his new role, James will support Main Street America Group's continuing focus on ease-of-use for its agent customers, according to Van Berkel. "To accomplish this, it is critical that we flawlessly deliver our new Main Street Station commercial lines and personal lines policy processing platforms as well as key new products, such as Personal Auto MVP and Main Line BOP, throughout all of our states," he says.
James formerly headed his own consulting firm James Group LLC. Before that, he was vice president and global account executive at Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), where he oversaw the AON account. Other experience during James more than three-decade career in insurance IT operations include various roles at Zurich Financial Services, including senior vice president at Zurich North America, senior vice president and CIO at Zurich Canada and senior vice president and CIO at Zurich Personal. Before joining Zurich, James held several executive positions at Harleysville Insurance Group and Harleysville Life.
