AIG Names Kaiser Permanente Vet CIO

Philip Fasano has also worked at Capital One and JPMorgan Chase.

Philip Fasano will join insurance giant AIG as EVP and CIO in October, the company announced Monday. This is a newly created role reporting to president and CEO Peter Hancock.

Fasano joins AIG from Kaiser Permanente, where he held the same title. He will oversee AIG's global information technology, including reviewing and updating technology systems and platforms, along with data management and security.

Hancock said in the press release:

I am delighted to welcome Phil to AIG. Phil is a leader in the field of information technology and has an extensive track record of improving systems and data management while creating innovative solutions to complex issues at global companies. I am confident Phil’s leadership and knowledge will help us achieve our vision of providing a truly seamless technology experience to our customers, distribution partners, and employees.

Before joining Kaiser Permanente, Fasano ran a consultancy. He also has worked at Capital One Financial, JPMorgan Chase, Deutsche Financial Services, and Bankers Trust and is the author of Transforming Health Care: The Financial Impact of Technology, Electronic Tools and Data Mining.
