Novarica Adds Former AXA CTO as Principal
The insurance technology advisory firm Novarica has added Mitch Wein, former CTO at AXA UK, AXA Equitable, and AIG Domestic Brokerage Group, as a principal based in the firm's New York office. Wein's appointment takes effect Nov. 1.
"Mitch has a broad range of senior experience across property/casualty, life/annuity, health, and wealth management both domestically and internationally," Novarica managing director Matthew Josefowicz said in a press release Monday. "We're looking forward to bringing his distinctive expertise to our growing client base of more than 75 insurers."
In August, Novarica announced a partnership with the Nolan Company consultancy. At that time, Novarica principal Chad Hersh took a senior vice president-level position at Nolan's insurance practice.
Wein's expertise "covers application development, infrastructure, architecture, process improvement, methodology including agile, quality assurance, business continuity and disaster recovery, outsourcing, performance and scalability," Novarica said in the release Monday. He held C-level IT leadership roles at AXA in the EU, the UK, and the US, and at AIG Domestic Brokerage Group, for more than two decades. Before that, he held a variety of technology positions at large financial service firms, including Bankers Trust (now part of Deutsche Bank) and Prudential Insurance.
Novarica also announced Monday the recent addition of marketing director Paul Ptashnick, who also has worked at CoreLogic and RiskMeter. He is based in Novarica's Boston office.
