Nationwide Launches New iPhone App
Nationwide Insurance (Columbus, Ohio) launched a new iPhone application on Wednesday, with aim towards providing value-added content conmtent to customers and potential customers as they navigate the car shopping experience.
The free app, Cartopia, provides car shoppers with unbiased information from various sources on specific cars, according to a press release. Using the app, car shoppers can enter the make and model of a vehicle to access safety, pricing, payment and other information. In addition, a user could enter the vehicle identification number (VIN) into the application to get free AutoCheck vehicle history score from Experian Automotive, Nationwide says.
"Everyone who shops for a car has specific things that are important to them in making a purchase decision," Sue McManus, associate vice president of interactive marketing for Nationwide, said in a press release. "Cartopia allows users to review unbiased information about multiple cars on the car lot, including things that may not be obvious to the naked eye like if a used car has been in an accident or damaged in a flood. It helps them lift the veil to make an informed decision about the car that's right for them."
The new application is available to users via Apple's App Store on iTunes. The carrier worked with Rosetta, a Hamilton, N.J.-based interactive marketing agency, to develop the application.
