OneShield, MIS Build System
OneShield (Woburn, MA), a browser-based insurance integration and distribution provider, has partnered with McCracken Insurance Systems (MIS, Billerica, MA) to develop an agency management system.
Essentially OneShield will be the developer of the McCracken product, "an underwriting /submissions, policy management, accounting and claims reporting solution," says Glen Anschutz, CEO, OneShield.
MISa new company founded by agency-management system veteran Frank McCracken, who sold his original company to Delphi Systemswill target the product to mid- to large-size agencies. The product will integrate with OneShield Dragon, a front-end interface that handles underwriting, rating and document management for property and casualty insurers.
"It takes time for a carrier to change systems," Anschutz says. "Having a core system Dragon that is compatible with an agency management system makes OneShield a much more attractive option."
Frank McCracken, whose original product is still in use by agencies, was asked by agents to develop a new product because agencies could not find one that met their needs. Development will begin in late April and a product should be available by late 2003.
