Pac Blue Cross and BC Life Implement Global IQX System
Vancouver, British Columbia-based Pacific Blue Cross, along with its wholly owned subsidiary British Columbia Life & Casualty, has successfully implemented the first phase of the Global IQX (Ottawa) rating and quotation system, according to the vendor.
The phase is the first in a series aimed at automating the company's manual and experience rating processes for health, dental and life products. Initial capabilities include online quoting, rating and proposal generation.
According to a press release, Pacific Blue Cross began looking for a solution to replace its current rating and quotation system with a single integrated application that would offer the robustness needed to calculate rates for group benefit plans including extended health, dental, life, dependent life, critical illness, and accidental death and dismemberment, as well as short and long term disability.
After a vendor evaluation process, Global IQX was selected to deliver the project, which included the design, implementation and testing of the packaged rating and quotation solution and its associated processes for all benefit lines. In addition, the project's scope includes the extraction of data for use in other Pacific Blue Cross and BC Life systems.
