P&C Carrier Torus Deploys Cognizant Risk Platform, Selects Guidewire Claims System
Torus Insurance (London) has deployed a global risk engineering platform from Teaneck, N.J.-based Cognizant. Torus also announced the selection of San Mateo, Calif.-based Guidewire's ClaimCenter to manage claims for all of its lines, which include property, casualty, specialty and reinsurance.
The Cognizant platform streamlines Torus' analytical risk engineering processes enabling better differentiation of risks with superior pricing accuracy, according to a statement. Its interfaces and reporting capabilities are designed to improve the consistency, reliability, and security of risk-related data while enhancing customer experience, the statement adds. Cognizant and Torus have been working together since August 2009.
"Cognizant's ability to take up end-to-end responsibility from defining the IT blueprint, to designing the user experience, building the system, and rolling out post-production support has helped us build an application that will provide us better visibility of the risks we underwrite, improve productivity, and enhance the perception of Torus with clients and brokers," Jeff Smith, Torus' global CIO, says in a statement.
Meanwhile, Torus' goal in selecting ClaimCenter is to be "recognized as the premier claims organization in the insurance industry," according to global head of claims Rob Powell. He cited the system's performance metrics as a key driver toward that objective.
“Standardizing our claims handling processes with ClaimCenter will result in consistent, accurate, and prompt claims outcomes for our customers," Powell adds.
