Patni Establishes New BPO Hub for North America

Cambridge, Mass.-based Patni Computer Systems announced on Tuesday that it has established a new business process outsourcing (BPO) center in El Paso, Texas.

Triggered by a multiyear, multimillion-dollar BPO services contract with a healthcare technology and services provider, the new center will employ more than 300 skilled workers and will offer a wide range of insurance, financial services, finance and accounting, technical support and multi-lingual helpdesk services to Patni's North American clients, according to a press release.

The new center supports Patni's plans to offer clients more on-shore delivery capabilities. The company already has delivery centers in Bloomington, Ill.; Milpitas, Calif.; and Cambridge, Mass. "We have embarked on a plan to expand our domestic operations to address evolving customer requirements for cost-effective services from onshore locations," Naresh Lakhanpal, EVP and President, Patni Americas, said in a press release. "El Paso is a preferred domestic location possessing state-of-the-art infrastructure, cost advantages, a positive business climate, support from the local government and a highly skilled work force."
