PayFlex Launches Benefits Admin Platform
Omaha, Neb.-based PayFlex Systems, an administrator for employee benefit programs, has launched HealthHub powered by PayFlex, a platform that links healthcare finance and wellness products on a single Web site.
Offering mobile access to consumer-directed healthcare information as well, PayFlex's goal is to simplify and streamline financial, wellness and healthcare information into a central destination, tied to a single debit card and employee call center, the company says. It expects the streamlined approach to help employers with multiple health plans provide a uniform look and feel for each employee. Employers can directly fund wellness rewards and incentives into tax-advantaged healthcare accounts, facilitating employee adoption of a company's wellness initiatives, the company adds.
"Consumers today require significantly more health and financial related data at their fingertips, because they are now responsible for a greater share of healthcare costs," Darren McCue, EVP of strategy and product development at PayFlex, says in a statement. "HealthHub uniquely streamlines this data onto an integrated, easy-to-use platform that is accessible anytime and anywhere. Additionally, the design of the HealthHub platform enables it to be compatible with any financial institution, carrier and health management system."
The first phase of HealthHub offers a streamlined Web site, on which consumers can view and act on all elements of their personalized healthcare financial benefits, including health savings accounts, flexible spending accounts, health reimbursement arrangements, dependent care, commuter benefits, COBRA and other employer programs.
It also feature PayFlex Mobile, an app for iPhone, Blackberry and Android devices providing access and transactional capability related to healthcare benefits information.
HealthHub also enables secure electronic payments and account transfers funded by PayFlex-powered healthcare accounts, the company says.
PayFlex plans to release additional HealthHub functionality throughout the year.
