Penn National Selects Guidewire for Billing
Harrisburg, Pa.-based P&C carrier Penn National Insurance has selected San Mateo, Calif.-based Guidewire's BillingCenter as its billing management system.
The company was looking for a system that supported new payment methods, real-time online billing information and integration with agency management systems.
“We selected BillingCenter for its flexibility and upgradeability. We needed a system that we could own and leverage to support evolving business needs such as eBilling, with reduced time to bring new enhancements to market,” said Bryan Munchel, director, Planning and Project Management, Penn National Insurance, in a statement. “We also appreciated the high quality of the software and BillingCenter’s ability to integrate into our existing IT landscape.”
Company president and CEO Kenneth Shutts said that the billing experience is a priority for Penn National because it's the primary touchpoint by which its customers interact with the insurer.
"This is a great opportunity to utilize BillingCenter as a strategic touch point to get our message across, to remind our customers of the quality, value and security they are getting in a policy with Penn National Insurance," Shutts said in a statement. "In other words, we see this as a chance to make our customers feel good about their choice of insurance carrier."
Guidewire says its platform provides extensive self-service options; support for new billing and payment methods, as well as installment plans; and automation where appropriate.
