Pitney Bowes Powers Claims Functionality for 1st Guard iPhone App

1st Guard uses the vendor's Spectrum product for the claims portion of the insurer's TRUCKER1 app, which allows drivers to access their coverage information and get back on the road quickly when they have a claim.

1st Guard, a Venice, Fla.-based insurer specializing in truck insurance for owner/operators, has adopted Pitney Bowes Software (Troy, N.Y.) geolocational software solutions to help the insurer streamline operations and provide excellent customer and claims service to its policyholders, according to a vendor statement. The carrier is using Pitney Bowes Software's Spectrum OnDemand solution to validate addresses for policies and precise tax jurisdiction calculations, and customer mapping, all over a software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform.

1st Guard uses Spectrum for the claims portion of TRUCKER1, the carrier's industry-leading claims iPhone app for truck drivers. TRUCKER1 allows drivers to access their coverage information and get back on the road quickly when they have a claim, regardless of the time or the location of the incident. Drivers can now fill out a claim in 60 seconds on their iPhone, where it used to take nearly two days to complete the process, according to the Pitney Bowes statement. TRUCKER1 uses Pitney Bowes Software's software to verify the location of the incident, allowing the claims adjuster to have all of the details on hand to settle the claim efficiently. The Spectrum™ OnDemand service also provides the 1st Guard sales team with valuable prospecting information, pinpointing the location of current and potential customers within a certain radius from a specific geographical location, to capitalize on potential business opportunities and strengthen relationships, according to Pitney Bowes.

"Spectrum OnDemand has become a supporting service that we use across the company for any address validation or geocoding specific issue," said Dan Ribar, CIO, 1st Guard. "In addition to the power of the solution, the ease of integration and the service has been exceptional, making Pitney Bowes Software a pleasure to work with. This is a mission critical system for us, and we are confident of the dependability of the service. It is always up and running and we don't worry about it."
