Amica Chooses New Policy Admin System

Amica Mutual Insurance Company, a Lincoln, R.I.-based personal lines insurer, will implement Guidewire PolicyCenter as its news policy administration and underwriting system, according to a Guidewire (San Mateo, Calif.) press release. The phased implementation will begin with the carrier's automobile line of business, before deploying to other lines such as homeowners, marine and personal excess liability.

PolicyCenter, built on a Web-based platform, streamlines the processes of new business submission, change endorsement, and renewal management, according to the vendor. According to the press release, it is expected that the new system will enable Amica to more easily complete applications over the phone with customers, reduce training times for new customer service representatives, capture more and higher quality data for underwriting decision making and make products changes more quickly.
