CSC Launches POINT IN Policy Admin For Windows

The new release of the Java-based system includes enhanced configuration tools that allow carriers to easily create their own rules or use one of the hundreds pre-built into the system, according to the vendor.

CSC (Falls Church, Va.) has announced the availability of the Java version of its POINT IN end-to-end policy administration system for all P&C lines of business. The new version of POINT IN offers a new option that runs on the Microsoft Windows platform with a SQL Server database, in addition to the currently supported IBM and Oracle/Sun Microsystems platforms, according to a vendor statement.

According to CSC, two multinational insurers are currently implementing the Java version of POINT IN for Windows to increase productivity and speed product development. The new release includes enhanced configuration tools that allow carriers to easily create their own rules or use one of the hundreds pre-built into the system, CSC claims. With improved graphical interfaces, these tools significantly streamline and accelerate the introduction of new products and lines of business, as well as entry into additional states, the vendor asserts.

"Microsoft platforms have been growing in popularity among tier-two carriers for some time now, where POINT IN has a large following," comments Chad Hersh, a partner in Novarica's insurance practice. "Platform choice puts the control in the hands of the carriers to select the platform that best fits their current needs on a variety of fronts, while the availability of POINT IN on all three major database options and multiple operating systems on a Java codebase continues to move the solution forward."
