US carriers will spend more than $1.1 billion on new agent-focused extranet technology over the next two years, according to "Agents Extranets Overview," a report from Celent Communications (Boston).

Guaranteed Quotes (Edmond, OK), a Web-based insurance marketing organization, will provide a Web-based system for tracking, storing and retrieving information to reduce the time and expense associated with underwriting life insurance, disability and long-term care policies to DataLife (Verona, NJ), a life insurance technology support provider that helps reduce underwriting time and costs.

Winston-Salem, NC-based BB&T Insurance Services has teamed with Access CoverageCorp (Charlotte, NC) to improve BB&T's client acquisition process by more effectively managing multiple carrier submissions, including obtaining real-time bindable commercial insurance quotes.

Colorado Springs-based Insurance Technologies, a point-of-sale management software provider, has launched its newly designed Web site. The site features new product definitions and product flash tours and demonstrations. Insurance Technologies launched the site to offer customers a better client connection and more in-depth information.
