Kentucky Farm Bureau Selects Guidewire Billing Solution

The Louisville-based P&C carrier will make its first deployment of Guidewire BillingCenter in personal lines auto.

Kentucky Farm Bureau (Louisville, Ky.) has selected Guidewire (Foster City, Calif.) BillingCenter as its new billing management system. BillingCenter will help Kentucky Farm Bureau handle direct billing and will be deployed for its personal lines auto first, followed by all other lines of business in a phased implementation approach, according to a Guidewire statement. The company, now a Guidewire InsuranceSuite customer, has been in production with Guidewire ClaimCenter since 2008 and Guidewire PolicyCenter since 2009.

Kentucky Farm Bureau sought to replace its over 30-year-old legacy billing platform in order to increase real-time functionality for system updates and also consolidate disparate platforms and processes. The carrier required a system that could handle near-term concerns as well as prepare it for future growth and other changes. The system also needed to interact seamlessly with its other core insurance systems, according to Guidewire.

"During our search for a new billing system one of our key priorities was to find a system that would give us options for functionality that we don't currently have now but could turn on in the future, for example, mobile application updates," comments Kathy Grider, manager, policy services, Kentucky Farm Bureau. "We are dedicated to enhancing the customer experience for Kentucky Farm Bureau members through innovation, and we are confident that Guidewire BillingCenter will be able to seamlessly handle the system changes needed to do so."

Dee Riley, enterprise application architect, Kentucky Farm Bureau says, "While we had experienced previous successful implementations with PolicyCenter and ClaimCenter, we selected BillingCenter based on its own merits. We felt that the depth and breadth of BillingCenter's capabilities will help us meet our current and future IT and business goals."

The vendor asserts that Guidewire BillingCenter will enable Kentucky Farm Bureau to:

- Accelerate recognition of payment and revenue; - Decrease training time for new billing support resources; - Reduce billing support expenses at agency and state offices; and - Readily configure the system to meet evolving business and technical requirements.
