New Novarica Analyst From CIO Side

In his new role as analyst, former Navy Mutual CIO Tom Benton will report on core system transformation, IT strategy and project management, with a focus on life and annuity carriers.

his work in the insurance industry, Benton has broad experience in IT project management from positions at General Electric and PG&E, and in leading organizations through technology transformations as a CIO at medium-sized non-profits. As a Novarica analyst, Benton says he will use that experience to advise clients and provide research on best practices that will better ensure success with their strategies and transformation projects.

"I am currently working on a report on core system replacement lessons learned, which is a topic of interest to me, having recently led a multi-year transformation strategy at Navy Mutual that included a rapid-deployment policy admin system implementation," Benton relates. "I have also contributed to research on e-mail archiving and compliance management for a report that is about to be released."

Benton's main research areas are in core system transformation, IT strategy and project management, primarily for life and annuity carriers.
