Santa Clara, Calif. - 8x8 Inc. added three optional calling features to its Packet8 Virtual Office VoIP-hosted PBX service. The Virtual Extension feature allows businesses to customize specific extensions to function as information-only mailboxes. The Metered Extensions feature enables large companies to scale down monthly phone charges for low-call-volume users without sacrificing PBX functionality. And the Toll Free Service Plan option allows businesses to port existing toll-free numbers over to their Virtual Office service for free.

Toronto - SOLCORP unveiled a Microsoft .NET-based version of INGENIUM, its Web services-enabled policy administration system that scales to high-volume environments. Operating INGENIUM on a .NET framework helps clients lower operating expenses while meeting performance and operations requirements for mission-critical applications, according to SOLCORP.
Payment Consolidation
Cleveland - ECHO Health introduced ECHOPay, a payment process that allows healthcare payers to consolidate payments across all boundaries - from multiple employers, bank accounts and adjudication systems - into a single provider payment. ECHOPay leverages existing bank industry technology to enable a Web-based reporting and tracking system, online check reconciliation, check imaging and full online accounting capabilities, the vendor says.

Cupertino, Calif. - ArcSight introduced the ArcSight ESM (enterprise security management) Healthcare Edition, a security solution that enables healthcare payers, providers and clearinghouses to collect security log information from the entire infrastructure - including intrusion detection systems, firewalls, vulnerability assessment, router and operating system logs. ArcSight ESM Healthcare Edition reports are tailored to generate HIPAA-relevant statements that can be disseminated to compliance stakeholders.

Pompano Beach, Fla. - Blue Frog Solutions unveiled a new MIB (Management Information Base) Administrator module that supports all ACORD messaging with MIB. The new module, which attaches to life insurance carriers' back-office mainframe administration systems, allows life insurance carriers to connect to, request and receive information from MIB, as well as reply back to MIB with new underwriting information, leveraging ACORD standards.

RESTON, Va. - iLumin Software Services released Assentor Enterprise 3.4, which includes information life-cycle management (ILM) capabilities to help companies control how a message is stored, where it is stored and for how long by enabling IT administrators to establish e-mail and instant message retention policies at the message level - based on attributes such as line of business and organizational hierarchy. With Assentor 3.4, companies can optimize their message archival to support compliance while removing the storage burden from their corporate e-mail servers and provide seamless end-user access to their archives, the vendor claims.

WYNCOTE, Pa. - IDP released AcIes/one Bill-It, a fully Web-distributed billing module. Bill-It, which runs on a Microsoft .NET platform, readily operates with other Internet-based services. Web-based features include remote access for agents and agencies, third-party payment and printing, real-time cash posting, automated cash application, equity installments, account billing and the ability to trail billing audits for all accounts. The module functions as a stand-alone unit or as an integrated part of the AcIes/one suite of products.

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Fujitsu Computer Products of America enhanced its fi-5110EOX2 ScanSnap scanning solution. The new scanner features an advanced software bundle, including Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Standard, ScanSnap Organizer version 1.0 and ScanSnap Manager version 2.0, allowing users to create and share Adobe PDF documents, attach passwords to ScanSnap-created PDF files and display scanned PDF files as thumbnails.
