Protective Life Names New Chief Risk Officer
Birmingham, Ala.-based Protective Life Corporation has appointed Michael Temple EVP and chief risk officer of the company effective Dec. 3.
Temple will lead the company's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program, including risk culture and governance, modeling, and risk reporting. He reports to chairman, president and CEO John D. Johns.
"Mike's depth of knowledge and understanding of our industry will be a great asset to Protective as we continue to evolve and strengthen our Enterprise Risk Management," said Johns in a statement. "We are delighted to have him on the senior executive leadership team."
Temple last served as SVP and chief risk officer at Unum Group, a position he held for seven years.
